BRODHEAD — The Cardinals finished tied for first in a triple-dual Tuesday at Brodhead High School. Evansville and Brodhead-Juda tied with a score of 101 while Parkview finished with a 146.
Madelynn McIntyre of the Cardinals won the girls race with a time of 19:32, 44 seconds ahead of Evansville’s McKenzie Fillner. Brodhead-Juda also received big runs from Nicole Kamholz (fifth, 21:23), Zoe Tresemer (eighth, 21:59) and Carisa Purdue (ninth, 22:14).
In the boy’s race, Evansville’s Benedict Gallagher paced the field with a 17:22. Brodhead-Juda was led by Jacob Staffon’s third place finish with a 17:55, narrowly ahead of teammate Trenton Condon who was fourth at 17:58. Other Brodhead-Juda runners included Carter Urness, who was seventh (18:12), and Royce Brauer (14th, 19:17).
