EVANSVILLE — Brodhead stayed unbeaten in the Rock Valley with a dominating 51-26 win over Evansville Jan. 20. The Cardinals hold a 2.5 game lead on Edgerton with seven games to play, while Jefferson and McFarland are each three games back.
The Cards (15-2, 11-0) held a 26-8 advantage at halftime. Abbie Dix led the way with 17 points, while Kiarra Moe had 16.
Moe is just 67 points from reaching the career milestone number of 1,000. She’s averaging 11.9 points this season with seven games to play before the postseason begins.
Albany 48, Potosi-Cassville 22
ALBANY — The Comets locked down defensively in the second half to put away the visiting Potosi-Cassville Jan. 22.
Albany allowed just five points after the intermission, turning an 8-point lead into a 26-point rout.
Brianna Dahl led the Comets with 14 points from the field. Alana Durtschi finished with eight, while Emileigh Dallman, McKenna Broughton and Kaiya Zurfluh each scored six points.
Black Hawk 43, Argyle 37
ARGYLE — The Warriors stayed unbeaten in the Six Rivers East with a thrilling road victory Jan. 20 over the Orioles.
Raylin Peterson led Black Hawk with 18 points, while Tara Wellnitz scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds. The Warriors led 23-18 at halftime.
Grace Ganshert had 10 points and eight boards to lead Argyle. Chesney Leigh chipped in with nine points and five rebounds.
Black Hawk 49, Dodgeville 42
DODGEVILLE — The Warriors went into halftime knotted up with the Dodgers at 20-20 in a nonconference game played Jan. 22.
Wellnitz finished a double-double for Black Hawk, scoring 15 points to go with 11 rebounds and four steals. Tatum Baumgartner tallied 18 points and Maddy Lange had eight.
Pecatonica 52, Monticello 27
MONTICELLO — The Vikings (7-8, 3-3 Six Rivers East had three players in double figures en route to a momentum-building conference win Jan. 20 over the Ponies (6-8, 2-4). The pair entered the game tied in league table at 2-3. With the win, Pecatonica remains tied for third place.
Lexi Peterson scored 16 points to lead Pecatonica, with teammate Chloe Schraepfer tallying 12 and Tessa Green adding 11. The Vikings led 26-16 at halftime.
Dalana Trumpy paced Monticello with nine points. Jaden Zuber and Ellie Gustafson each had eight points.
Barneveld 60, Juda 41
JUDA — The Panthers let a 5-point halftime lead disappear Jan. 20 in a Six Rivers East game against the Eagles. In the second half, Barneveld outpaced Juda 40-16 to win handily.
Shelbi Marx led the Eagles with 19 points. Eleven different Barneveld players scored. Anna Skoumal led Juda with 22 points, while Libby Jordan added six.
Durand 38, Juda 29
JUDA — The Panthers dropped a Jan. 22 nonconference game to their cross-state rival.
Skoumal, Jordan and Katie Nusbaum each scored six points for Juda, which trailed 26-17 at halftime.
In other area games on Jan. 20, Monroe (0-14) fell 93-20 to Division 2 No. 1 Reedsburg (17-0), Darlington lost to Cuba City 69-51, and New Glarus toppled Cambridge 67-53, outscoring the hosts by 16 points in the second half.
