Brodhead falls to Big Foot, Darlington trips Barneveld

BRODHEAD — Cade Walker scored 18 points but the Cardinals fell to Big Foot 59-56 Nov. 29.

Brodhead (1-1) led 25-18 at halftime, holding the Chiefs (1-0) to just seven field goals and 3 of 10 shooting from the free throw line. But in the second half, Big Foot found its groove.

Max Hildebrandt scored all 11 of his points in the second for Big Foot, teammate Logan Eischeid had 12 of his game-high 22 in the frame, and AJ Courier scored 10 of his 14 points in the second half. The Chiefs, which won just three games last season, were 6 of 12 from the charity stripe down the stretch.

Brodhead, meanwhile, was 8 of 13 from the line in the second half. Walker scored 12 of his 18 points in the frame, and Connor Green had 8 of his 11 in the half. Dawson Van Whye and Cody Malcook each had nine points for the Cardinals.

Brodhead next plays Dec. 4 at Clinton (0-1).


Darlington 52, Barneveld 42

DARLINGTON — The Redbirds held off the Golden Eagles (0-3) Nov. 29 thanks to 16 points from sophomore Carter Lancaster and 13 from senior Stryker Fitzsimons.

Trae Schilling added eight for Darlington (2-0), which was scheduled to face off with Mineral Point (1-0) Dec. 4. After that, the Redbirds host Cuba City (1-0) Dec. 7.


Madison Country Day 62, Albany 55

MADISON — Josh Dahl had 15 points to lead the Comets (0-2). Colin Green’s 25 for Madison Country Day (1-2) was the high point total in the game played Nov. 29.

Albany was scheduled to face Belmont Dec. 4 at hosts Argyle (0-1) Dec. 7.


Orangeville 57, Juda 30

LENA — The Panthers lost to the Broncos in a border battle nonconference game Dec. 1.

Orangeville had only five free throw attempts in the game – making three – but scored 25 times from the field, including four 3-pointers.

The Broncos led 11-7 after the first quarter and went on a 15-5 run in the second to go into halftime ahead 26-12. The momentum carried over into the third quarter, where Orangeville outscored Juda 19-12.

Garrett Rodebaugh led all scorers with 17 points for the Broncos. Teammates Carter Kleckler (16) and Kale Bowen (10) also reached double figures.

Gavin Kammerer paced Juda with 12 points, while Quinton Kammerer had nine.
