BELLEVILLE — The Capitol Conference recently released its girls soccer all-conference selections, and defending champions Sugar River nabbed 10 spots on the list, highlighted by Anya Brenkman’s Player of the Year honor.

Forward Anya Brenkman scored 50 goals this season, paired with 13 assists. Those statistics placed her high up in program and state records. Her 50 goals in a season is a new program record, besting her own 38 goals from 2023. That mark was also third in the state. Points-wise, Anya Brenkman was fourth in the state.

In her three-year career, Anya Brenkman is already solidifying her name in Sugar River program history. In addition to setting the single-season goals record, she is second all-time for goals scored (106) behind Hannah Kernen (131). The two are also in a tight race for all-time points — Kernen leads with 307 points (131G, 45A), while Anya Brenkman has 259 points (112G, 35A).

Anya’s sister and fellow forward Bella Brenkman was also named to the all-conference first team. She scored 19 goals with a team-best 17 assists for 55 points. Her single-season 17 assists is tied for second best in the program with teammate Jenna Gentilli (2023), Aimee Sies (2015), Taylor Legler (2016) and Kernen (2011). That mark was also tied for 25th best in the state. In her four-year career, Bella Brenkman compiled 134 points (48G, 38A), which is eighth-best in the program.

Midfielder Jenna Gentilli earned first-team all conference. She was third on the team in goals scored (9) and assists (11) for 29 points. Combined with statistics from her previous three years, Gentilli ended her Raider career tied for 16th for all-time points (82 points; 25G; 32A). She shares this record with Jenny Donahue, a 2008 Belleville graduate.

Fellow midfielder Lily Maynard also snagged a first-team spot with two goals and three assists for seven points. Defender Audry Brueggemann, a first-team selection, also scored seven points with three goals and one assist.

Goalkeeper Addison Lutz, who earned second-team all-conference, cracked the top five in program history for all-time keeper saves (184) and all-time wins (35).

Junior Hannah Boldebuck, an honorable mention forward, scored 17 points this season from five goals and seven assists. Combined with previous years’ results, she has totaled 77 career points, which is 19th best in the program. Boldebuck has one more year to move up the ranks.

Other all-conference selections include Delaney Hoeper, second-team defender; Brooke Warrell, honorable mention midfield; and Ellie Brenkman, honorable mention defender.

As a team, Sugar River won its seventh straight league title and 16th overall, going 6-0-0 in conference play. The Raiders scored 114 goals, which is a new program best. The previous record was 110 goals, scored by the 2005 team. The team gave up just 14 goals with 15 shutouts — marks that are sixth- and fifth-best in the program. With an overall record of 19-4-1, Sugar River finished tied for seventh for most wins.

ROCK VALLEY

MONROE — Cheesemakers Kaelyn Welch, Mary McKenzie and Addison Barthoff received all-conference honors from the Rock Valley.

Welch, a four-year starter in goal, earned second-team all-conference. Barthoff and McKenzie garnered honorable mention as leaders on the offense.

Monroe finished 3-5-1 in the Rock Valley and 4-9-3 overall. It was the most wins the program had seen since the 2018 season, where Monroe lost to Edgewood in a regional final.
