BH repeats as Six Rivers East champ

SOUTH WAYNE — Black Hawk celebrated a back-to-back conference title Oct. 15, as the Warriors swept Juda to earn sole possession of the Six Rivers East crown.

Bailey Butler led the way with 15 kills for Black Hawk, which won 25-12, 25-6, 25-17. Hannah Butler had eight kills and three blocks for the Warriors. Kristen Knapp finished with three aces and Maddy Huschitt dished out 19 assists.

Montana Steinmann had four assists and two aces for Juda, while Morgan Schneeberger had 25 digs. 


Monticello 3, Argyle 0

ARGYLE — The Orioles gave the Ponies a run but fell short, losing 25-21, 25-21, 26-24 in their Six Rivers East clash Oct. 15.

Megan Johnson had four aces and 19 assists to lead Argyle, while teammate Tori Lantz finished with two blocks. Maggie Godfrey led the Orioles with nine kills and eight digs.

Ellie Gustafson finished with eight kills, two blocks, four aces and 10 digs for Monticello, which clinched second place in the conference race behind champion Black Hawk. Mackie Errthum had eight kills for the Ponies, and Alexa Siegenthaler chipped in 18 assists.


Waterloo 3, New Glarus 0

NEW GLARUS — The Glarner Knights found hard in the first set, but the second-ranked Pirates proved to be too much. Waterloo swept New Glarus 25-18, 25-15, 25-6 Oct. 15.

Grace Nommensen led New Glarus with 12 assists and two blocks. Brooke Watrud finished with six digs, while Alexah Mellenberger had five kills. Lola Gillaspie and Lily Himmelmann each had three kills for the Knights.

Brooke Mosher led Waterloo with 13 kills, a block and 17 assists. Michaela Riege and Sophia Schneider each had four aces.
