BLANCHARDVILLE — On April 9, the Belmont Braves rolled into Blanchardville and throttled the Pecatonica Vikings 20-5 in a Six Rivers Conference crossover softball game.
Tessa Green and Bri Peterson each had two hits for Pecatonica, with Peterson adding two RBIs. Triniti Gruenenfelder reached twice and scored twice from the leadoff spot. Green, Peterson and Gruenenfelder each doubled for the Vikings.
Peterson took the loss on the mound, allowing 11 runs on 13 hits in three innings. Green pitched an inning, giving up five runs, and Diana Hendrickson pitched the fifth, allowing four runs.
Belmont had six extra base hits, including a home run by Lainey Riechers in the fourth inning. Riechers had two hits and five RBIs. Belmont had five players with multiple hits. The Braves finished with 21 hits, seven walks and just one strikeout.
