DARLINGTON — The Darlington Redbirds boys basketball team finished 18-8 overall and 9-5 in SWAL play this past winter, with three players named to the all-conference team. The girls team finished third and also had three players honored.
Seniors Hunter Hardyman and Easton Evenstad were first-team selections for Darlington, while junior Carver Fitzsimons was ab honorable mention pick.
League co-champion Mineral Point (23-4, 12-2) had three first-team selections and an honorable mention pick. Pointers senior Joah Filardo was named the league’s Player of the Year, and coach Dan Burreson was Coach of the Year. Filardo averaged 17 points per game.
Co-champion Cuba City (24-3, 12-2) also had three first-team picks and one honorable mention.
On the girls side, conference champion Mineral Point had five first-team selection, including Player of the Year (Mallory Lindsey) and Coach of the Year (Mike Keyes).
Darlington’s Taylor Wedig (Sr.) and Cayla Golackson (Jr.) were first-team selections, while Greta Volkening (Sr.) was an honorable mention pick.
