BELLEVILLE — The Capitol Conference recently released its wrestling all-conference selections, and Sugar River had 10 members honored. Mason Lane of Lodi and Trefor Firari of Waterloo were named Wrestlers of the Year in their respective divisions.

Blake Endres (120) was a first-team all-conference member, earning his 100th career win on the same night Sugar River won the Capitol South title. In addition to winning his bracket at the conference meet, Endres was a regional and sectional runner-up to eventual state champion Charlie Meudt of Dodgeville. Endres made a second-straight appearance at the WIAA individual state tournament but did not make the podium.

Mason Mau (138) was another 1st AC selection. He was a regional and sectional runner-up, qualifying for his fourth WIAA individual state tournament. Mau will continue his wrestling career at UW-La Crosse.

Cayson Helwig (157) won his bracket at the Capitol Conference meet, earning 1st AC. He went 2-2 in regionals, finishing fourth.

In addition to being a conference champion and earning 1st AC, Ryker Swenson (165) was a regional runner-up. He took third at sectionals and punched his first ticket to the WIAA individual state tournament.

Zech Bair (113), Ashlin Mihlbauer (132), Brennan Keyes (144), Trei Udelhoven (175) and Isaac Erb (285) were all second-team all-conference, while Carson Loshaw (190) earned honorable mention. Loshaw was the only wrestler of the bunch to qualify for state.
