MONROE - It's been 13 days since Monroe senior Joe Latimer suffered an ACL injury against Milton.
But Latimer, a center for the Monroe boys basketball team, doesn't want his season to end just yet. He has been rehabbing his knee and wants a chance to come back to play.
After Monroe defeated Reedsburg 38-32 to win a WIAA Division 2 regional title, Latimer said if he feels well enough, he will play against DeForest in a sectional semifinal on Thursday at Middleton.
"I'm just kind of day-to-day," Latimer said.
Monroe coach Pat Murphy said Latimer has been fitted for a knee brace.
"You just feel bad for him having to watch the tournament games from the bench," Murphy said. "We would like to see if he can do a little bit in practice."
Latimer was the team's leading scorer (14.6 ppg) when he was injured.
