Lancaster rolls over Darlington in first round

LANCASTER - The Darlington Redbirds (5-5) had their football season end harshly Tuesday in a 42-0 loss to state-ranked Lancaster (9-1) in the first round of the Division 5 WIAA playoffs.

Darlington quarterback Alex Erickson managed 126 rushing yards on eight carries, but was just 5-of-19 with two interceptions and 17 yards passing in a game in which the Redbirds needed to air it out.

The Flying Arrows outgained the Redbirds 393-160 in the game, and scored all of their points by halftime.
