FORT ATKINSON - The throwers on the Monroe girls track team were essentially competing against themselves in a dual meet Tuesday at Fort Atkinson.

The Cheesemakers dominated the weight events by sweeping the top three spots in the shot put and discus to beat Fort Atkinson in a Badger South dual, 84-62.

Monroe won 11 of the 18 events and senior Carmen Lawver won both the shot put (33 feet, 11 inches) and the discus (94-0).

"We didn't set it up to score a ton of points," Monroe girls track coach Curt Miller said, as the Cheesemakers remain unbeaten in Badger South dual meets this year. "It put a little more pressure on our girls to run and we scored enough points to win."

Monroe senior Meaghan Tomasiewicz won the high jump (4-10) and the pole vault (10-6).

Breanna Bazley won the long jump (14-9 1/2) and junior Tess Seichter took first in the 1,600 (5 minutes, 32.3 seconds).

Tessa Frutiger won the 400 (1:06.2) and Stephanie Wyss finished first in the 200 (:27.8).

Monroe won three of the four relays. The Cheese-makers' 400 relay team of Maria Eberle, Wyss, Ty Gibson and Jaclyn Ditter finished first with a time of :53.6. In the 800 relay, Bazley teamed up with Lauren Baker, Abby Jacobson and Gibson to win in 1:59.1.

The Cheese-makers' 1,600 relay team of Eberle, Gibson, Frutiger and Ditter won the race with a time of 4:28.5.
