MADISON - The Monroe boys hockey co-op team jumped out to a two-goal lead against the Madison La Follette-East, but couldn't hang on and dropped a nonconference game to the Lakers 4-3 Saturday. Freshman Cade Janecke of Orangeville scored a goal on assists from sophomore Payton Stauffacher and freshman Hayden Roth to give the Cheesemakers a 1-0 lead at the 8-minute-54-second mark in the first period. Sophomore Ryan Molitor of Warren scored a goal early in the second period to give the Cheesemakers a 2-0 lead.
