ALBANY - Sophomore Katie Krupke pitched a four-hit shutout to lead Albany to a 2-0 win over Black Hawk Monday.
Albany (2-7, 2-5 Six Rivers East) scored two runs in the third inning. Black Hawk pitcher Kayla Melland walked Clare Koopmans. Albany junior Kaitlyn Schulz then singled. One batter later, Melland walked Kaylee Johnson. Senior Trisha Tourdot then came through with an RBI single. Fellow senior Abby Kauk knocked in the second run when she reached on a fielder's choice.
Krupke had two strikeouts and walked two.
"She pitched really well," Albany coach Connie Wunschel said. "We played outstanding defense behind her."
With the loss, Black Hawk drops to 1-6 in the conference.
Juda 14, Pecatonica 2
BLANCHARDVILLE - The Juda offense came alive and pounded out 14 hits on its way to a 14-2 win over Pecatonica Monday.
Juda (7-3, 5-0 Six Rivers East) had several players with multi-hit games including freshman Jessica Rackow (3-for-3), senior Tabitha Theiler (3-for-5 with a double) and sophomore Katlyn DeVoe (2-for-5). The Panthers extended their winning streak to five games.
Juda sophomore Amber Ramos pitched a complete game one-hitter. She struck out 10 and walked just one.
The Vikings (2-7, 2-4) committed five errors. Pecatonica senior Kaci Cassidy went seven innings and gave up 14 runs on 14 hits. She struck out five and walked three.
