NEW GLARUS - Sometimes an error can make all the difference.

The Glarner Knights allowed two unearned runs to score in the top of the third that proved to be the difference in the game, as they lost to Marshall 4-2 Wednesday.

Marshall took a 1-0 lead in the second inning but plated three runs (one earned) in the third. New Glarus countered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third, but neither team plated a run after that.

The Knights were held to just two hits in the game and left 14 men on base.

Andrew Nimtz took the loss on the mound, allowing all four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out six. Noah Zimmerman came on in relief in the fifth and struck out five while walking two and giving up two hits.
