Knights crush Dells

NEW GLARUS - The New Glarus boys basketball team continued its hot streak shooting to a 65-54 win over Wisconsin Dells Saturday.

New Glarus (7-9, 4-2 Capitol South) has won three straight games and seven of their last 10 games.

"I think our defense bas been solid and we have got better against zones," New Glarus coach Travis Sysko said. "We are kind of hitting our stride right now. Things are just starting to come together for us."

New Glarus junior Gavin Binger scored a game-high 21 points. The Glarner Knights made eight 3-pointers and had three players reach double figures. New Glarus sophomore Sawyer Myers scored 14 points and made three 3-pointers and junior Austin Schlueter added 12 points and hit two 3-pointers. Senior teammate Colton Boley chipped in nine points on three 3-pointers.

The Knights raced out to a 14-8 lead in the first quarter and led by 10-points at the half. The Knights sealed the game by outscoring the Chiefs 18-11 in the third quarter. New Glarus led by as many as 25 points. The Knights hit four 3-pointers in the second quarter.

"I thought in the second quarter we got 3 happy," Sysko said. "We only had one shot in the paint. At the half we talked about being more balanced and getting the ball inside for touches and we did that."



Onalaska Luther 76, Monticello 38

WISCONSIN DELLS - Monticello was no match for Onalaska Luther as Luther rolled to a 76-38 non-conference win over the Ponies Saturday at the Just-A-Game Fieldhouse Saturday.

Onalaska Luther's Collin Kennedy scored a game-high 28 points. Lutheran jumped out to a 25-13 lead in the first quarter and led by 22-points at the half.

Monticello senior Ben May scored a team-high 16 points. Junior teammate Logan Marty added seven points and Matthew Andrews chipped in six points. With the loss, Monticello drops to 1-15, 0-8 Six Rivers East.
