Pecatonica-Argyle 40, Highland 6

BLANCHARDVILLE - Pecatonica-Argyle coach Blake Bukowski said his team succeeded despite some initial uneasiness.

"I thought we started out kind of slow," Bukowski said. "The kids were really nervous. We have a lot of new kids in the skill positions. Once they started trusting the process we started rolling."

The team's first win of the season was also Bukowski's first win as head coach, after taking over from previous coach Larry Green.

"It's a great way to start out the season," Bukowski said. "The kids didn't know what kind of team we would have. The coaches knew we would have a team with a lot of speed. It was an important win for our kids. Going into each week 1-0 is important for us."
