MONROE - Several swimmers for the Monroe Area Swim Team shined in the 63rd annual Dr. Stiles Invitational on Saturday.

Monroe's Taylor Rufer, 13, won the 100-meter freestyle (1 minute, 27.42 seconds), finished first in the 50 backstroke (46.58) and took second in the 50 freestyle (39.09).

"I really wanted to win," Rufer said. "There was a lot of good competition here. My goal was to get three medals in my three individual events and I did that. That was my motivation. My hard work has been paying off. I've been practicing a lot. It just feels good to accomplish my goals."

Rufer also teamed with Ava Scace, Elsa Schaefer and Isabel Henry to take second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 3:13.82.

Schaefer won the 50 breaststroke (49.47), finished second in the 50 butterfly (44.12), took first in the 50 breaststroke (42.03) and third in the 100 freestyle (1:28.84). Rufer and Schaefer joined forces again with Alyvia Schulz and Jadyn Schwartzlow to take third in the 200 freestyle relay (3:03.09).

For the second straight year, the Platteville swim team captured the Dr. Stiles Invitational team championship, racing up 1,252 points. Sugar River took second (1,091) in the eight-team invitational. The Monroe Area Swim Team finished sixth (648). Evansville finished third (849) and Milton was fourth (794).

Sugar River's Keaten Zimmerman, 12, won the 50 freestyle (46.20) and the 200 individual medley (3:53.07) and took second in the 50 butterfly (44.75) and second in the 50 breaststroke (54.15). Sugar River's Kendra Wenger, 14, finished second in the 50 backstroke (49.95).

Monroe's Norma Parr took third in the 50 freestyle (44.65) and third in the 100 freestyle (1:39.88).

Natalie Wahl and Zimmerman teamed up with Ruby Righter to win the 200 medley relay (3:24.54). Wahl teamed with Norah McCarthy, Tenley Faber and Zimmerman to take second in the 200 freestyle relay (3:17.50).

Monroe's Anna Zentner, 9, finished first in the 50 butterfly (56.45) and took first in the 100 freestyle (1:44.50).

Aubrie Voegeli, 10, of Monroe, won the 50 freestyle (48.54), took second in the 50 breaststroke (1:02.40) and placed second in the 50 butterfly (1:02.99).

Teammate Kristina Foley, 10, of Monroe, finished second in the 50 freestyle (1:44.63). Foley teamed with Lauren Zentner, Aubrie Voegeli and Anna Zentner to win the 10 and younger 100 freestyle relay (1:38.90).

Sugar River's Camryn Arnett, 10, won the 50 breaststroke (59.34) and finished third in the 25 backstroke (1:00.23).

In the girls' 8 and younger division, Piper Faber, 8, of Sugar River, finished first in the 25 breaststroke (29.23), won the 25 freestyle (24.80) and took first in the 25 backstroke (26.20).

Teammate Lauryn Arnett, 8, took second (25.75) and finished first in the 25 breaststroke (27.77.

Maggie Piper, 8, of Sugar River, won the 25 butterfly (25.57) and took first in the 50 freestyle (53.45) and won the 25 breaststroke (29.23.

Teammate Kate Parman finished second in the 25 backstroke (26.85) and third in the 50 freestyle (53.99). Lauryn Arnett took third in the 25 breaststroke (32.56).

Monroe's Jade Tran, 7, finished third in the 25 backstroke (29.71.

In the boys' 8 and younger division, Sugar River's Tucker Sysko won the 25 freestyle (28.20) and took second in the 25 backstroke (35.02). Chayce Teasdale, 8, of Sugar River, took third in the 50 freestyle (1:20.45).

In the 9-10 division, Sugar River's Grady Johnson won the 50 freestyle (49.13) and the 100 freestyle (1:59.84).

Sugar River's Milo Johnson, 9, won the 50 freestyle (46.43) and the 50 breaststroke (1:01.53).

Sugar River's Simon Zimmerman, 9, won the 50 butterfly (47.94).

In the 100 medley relay, Grady Johnson, Milo Johnson, Zimmerman and Sysko took first (1:55.08). Simon Zimmerman added a first-place finish in the 50 backstroke (53.15) and Milo Johnson placed second (1:03.63). Simon Zimmerman also won the 50 breaststroke (58.38) and Milo Johnson placed second (1:06.43).

Sugar River's Teasdale, Sykso, Milo Johnson and Grady Johnson won the 10 and younger 100 freestyle relay (1:39.60).

Monroe's Jonathan Tacey took second in the boys open 200 freestyle (3:24.80) and took second in the 100 freestyle (1:36.99) first in the 200 IM (4:18.22) and won the 100 freestyle (1:37.79).

Emery Johnson, 12, of Sugar River, finished third in the 50 freestyle (42.06).

Sugar River's Karson Wenger teamed with Brycen Teasdale, Simon Zimmerman and Emery Johnson to win the 11-12 boys 200 freestyle relay (3:05.52).

Monroe's Zachary Meighan, 13, finished second in the 100 freestyle (1:16.71) and finished second in the 200 IM (3:16.54). Sugar River's Eli Zimmerman, 13, won the 200 IM (3:08.65) and finished second in the 50 butterfly (37.89).
