MONROE - The Monroe Youth Hockey Association is sponsoring an event that allows children to try hockey for free at the SLICE arena.
Coaches will be on hand to introduce prospective players to the sport of hockey, teach them how to skate, try to build on each player's existing skills and improve their hockey fundamentals.
All boys and girls are invited to try hockey from 9 to 10 a.m. Nov. 7 at SLICE in Monroe. Participants should arrive 15 to 30 minutes before the event to be fitted for equipment. Equipment, skates, and helmets will be available.
