MONROE - The eight annual JUST TRI Youth Triathlon will be held Saturday, July 23. The triathlon is for kids ages 7 to 17. Athletes can choose to compete as individuals or as part of a team. A new event this year is the Tot Tri, which is for children ages 4 to 6.
The Green County Family YMCA, Monroe, is providing the opportunity for young people to experience the sport of triathlon, test their strength of character and just enjoy the challenge of the combination of swimming, biking and running. Participating in triathlons is a superb fitness program capitalizing on the benefits of cross training in three different sports, officials said in a release.
