WILLIAMS BAY - Juda rode sophomore point guard Chelsea Burkhalter's play-making ability to a 46-27 win over Williams Bay in the Williams Bay Holiday Tournament Saturday.
Burkhalter scored a game-high 19 points and made three 3-pointers to pace the Panthers. With the win, Juda improves to 5-5, 1-2 Six Rivers East.
"She (Burkhalter) made her free throws and three 3's," Juda coach Curt Brown said. "That was important for us. It was a physical game, but everyone played a big role."
Juda outscored Williams Bay 13-6 in the second quarter to take a 12-point lead at the half.
"We played better in the first half with some defensive pressure," Brown said. "We struggled with our defense in the halfcourt."
Both teams struggled at the free-throw line with Williams Bay shooting 47 percent (9 of 19) and Juda 48 percent (15 of 31).
Juda sophomore Alexis Goecks and freshman Hailey Kammerer each added six points.
