JUDA - The Juda High School girls basketball team's offense faltered in the second half and the Panthers lost 50-40 Monday to Delavan-Darien in a nonconference game.
Juda junior Chelsea Burkhalter scored a game-high 17 points, including 12 in the first half. She made both of her 3-pointers in the first half.
The Panthers (4-2) were within 27-26 at halftime and then were outscored 23-14 in the second half.
"We played a good game against a bigger school," Juda coach Curt Brown said. "It was a good learning experience for us."
Juda was 5 of 7 from the free-throw line; Delavan-Darien made 13 of 25.
Belleville 45, Albany 29
ALBANY - After a closely contested first half, the Wildcats eventually pulled away from the Comets (0-7).
Albany was within 19-16 at halftime, but succumbed after a stretch in which the Comets went cold from the field and Belleville went on a roll.
Freshman Payton Zurfluh paced Albany with eight points.
Belleville's Grace Schulting led all scorers with 13 points.
