JUDA - Sophomore Ellen Kiser dropped in a game-high 19 points in leading the Panthers to a 37-30 win over the Argyle Orioles Thursday in Six Rivers East Conference action.

Leading 23-21 after three quarters, the Panthers used a 14-9 edge in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win. Argyle got 11 points from sophomore Danielle Treuthardt.

"We got into foul trouble," Argyle coach Johnny Hinojosa said. "We started having to play softer on Kiser."

Both Argyle junior Kelsey Bartels and sophomore Katie Dammen each had four fouls.

"We had to foul in the fourth quarter and they pulled away," Hinojosa said.

Juda (1-3 Six Rivers East, 6-5 overall) will host Albany Tuesday. Argyle (0-4 Six Rivers East, 2-7 overall) travels to Barneveld Tuesday.

DARLINGTON - Trailing just 9-7 in the first quarter, the Darlington Redbirds saw defending Division 3 State runner-up Cuba City go on a 44-4 blitz the rest of the first half and bury the Redbirds in SWAL Conference action Thursday night.

Junior Carley McDonald was the lone player in double figures for Darlington with 10 points.

Emily Kaiser led top-ranked Cuba City (6-0 SWAL, 11-0 overall) with 15 points.

Darlington falls to 2-4 in the SWAL and 3-7 overall.

Albany 50, Monticello 26

ALBANY - The Albany Comets' tallest player stands 5-feet, 9-inches, but their defense stood tall while their offense knocked down several outside shots in a win over the Monticello Ponies in a Six Rivers East Conference battle.

"We played zone and they couldn't hit any shots from the outside," said Albany head coach Mike Brunhoefer.

The Comets got a balanced attack on offense, with junior Courtney Pfeuti scoring 13 points, junior Hayli Peach 12, and junior Sydney Bump 11.

The Comets' defense made it difficult for the Ponies to score, allowing just 13 points in the first half and 13 in the second half while preventing the Ponies from getting anyone to score in double figures.

Junior Taylor Pfeuti led the team with nine points and senior Mersadi Hilliard added eight for Monticello (1-3 Six Rivers East, 2-6 overall).

"The second quarter started to get physical. Our girls weren't happy, but we told them to play tough," Brunhoefer said.

Albany improves to 3-1 in the Six Rivers East (8-4 overall) and travels to Juda Tuesday. The Monticello Ponies next game is at home Tuesday against Pecatonica.
