ORFORDVILLE - Juda coach Mike Armitage isn't satisfied, but he likes the first step the Panthers took in knocking off Parkview 49-35 in a non-conference game Monday.
Juda (7-4, 2-3 Six Rivers East) jumped out to a 22-16 halftime lead and had three players reach double figures. Juda seniors Brandon Bauman and Joey Jordan each scored a 12 points and Juda's Matt Trotter added 11 points and hit three 3-pointers. The Panthers were also solid from the free throw line, hitting 9 of 11.
"I think even though it's non-conference, it feels good to get a win," Armitage said. "I don't think we played great. At times, I think we played defense. We certainly have work to do. Tonight was certainly a good start."

Monticello seniors Lukas Kolasch and Evan Schultz each scored 11 points to lead the Ponies, while classmate Austin Steffen added 10 points.
