BARNEVELD - Juda-Albany senior Amber Ramos tossed a shutout and the Panthers beat Barneveld 10-0 in five innings Thursday to lock up an outright Six Rivers East Conf-erence championship.

Juda has won four straight conference titles, but this is the first year of the co-op with Albany. Ramos tossed a two-hitter and struck out 11. The Panthers had a one game lead on Monticello in the conference going into Thursday, but they secured the outright title with the win. Monticello defeated Black Hawk by a forfeit and the Ponies will play Argyle in Milwaukee today.

"It's nice we were able to wrap it up," Juda-Albany coach Bill Davis said. "We had at least a share of the conference, but we wanted to win it outright. It's nice we didn't have to rely on someone else to win it for us."

Juda-Albany junior Carlie Peters went 2-for-3 and had three RBIs to lead the Panthers. Sophomore Tabatha Davis was 2-for-4 and senior Katlyn DeVoe had a double and three RBIs.

Juda-Albany closes out the regular season with a non-conference game against Belmont, the state's third ranked team, on Tuesday, May 22. The Panthers received a first round bye in the regional and they will play the winner of Argyle and Barneveld on Tuesday, May 29.

Brodhead 16, Big Foot 4

BRODHEAD - The Brodhead girls softball team did everything they needed to do at the plate in the first inning to defeat Big Foot in a Rock Valley South Conference game.

Junior Amanda Pickel did the rest in the pitcher's circle. The Cardinals scored 12 runs in the first inning and Pickel allowed just two earned runs on five hits with six strikeouts and two walks as the Cardinals crushed the Chiefs in five innings. Pickel went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs scored, junior Taurie Burns was 3-for-4 with four RBIs, and freshman Payton Wright drove in three runs with a pair of triples and two runs scored. Junior Taylor Douglas capped off the scoring for the Cardinals with a three-run homer in the fourth inning. Brodhead closed out the regular season 16-4 overall and 13-2 in the Rock Valley South. They drew the No.1 seed and a first-round bye in the Division 3 regional and will host the winner of the regional quarterfinal between No. 4 seed Belleville and No. 5 seed Darlington on May 29.

Cuba City 7, Darlington 0

CUBA CITY - The Redbirds couldn't solve Cuba City's Heidi Tranel, who threw a four-hit shutout in a SWAL conference game Thursday. Darlington's Laura Steiner pitched six innings, giving up seven runs, six earned, with two walks and two strikeouts. Darlington (1-16, 1-12 SWAL) will close the regular season at home against Mineral Point Monday. The Redbirds are the No. 5 seed in the Division 3 regional and will travel to No. 4 seed Belleville Thursday.

CAMBRIDGE -The Blue Jays scored in every inning and staring pitcher Libbi Chitwood no-hit the New Glarus Glarner Knights in a Capitol South Conference game in five innings.

New Glarus will receive a victory by forfeit Saturday as they are scheduled to face Wisconsin Heights. The Vanguards do not have enough players, so the Glarner Knights will get a 7-0 forfeit win. They will finish the regular season with a non-conference game Monday at home against Faith Christian. New Glarus will be a No. 6 seed for the Division 3 regional when they travel to No. 3 seed Cuba City Thursday.
