Johnson propels Monroe boys hockey to victory

MONROE - Tyler Johnson scored the first two goals of the game to lead the Monroe boys hockey co-op to a 4-1 nonconference victory over the Eastside Lakers on Thursday at SLICE Arena.

Seth Lindsay also scored to give the Avalanche a 3-0 lead in the second period.

Eastside got on the board in the third period, and then Monroe's Jake Ritschards capped the scoring.

Travis Edmunds, Jared Dillon and Jared Cline had assists for Monroe.

Monroe goalie Daniel Guilliams made 22 saves. Eastside goalie Sean Goss made 52 saves.
