DARLINGTON - Senior running back Hunter Johnson rushed for 301 yards and scored six touchdowns to help the Redbirds roll to a 56-12 win over Lake Mills Friday.
Johnson bolted for a 56-yard TD run early in the first quarter. He then scored on a 33-yard run to give the Redbirds a 14-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Darlington senior Trevor Johnson raced in for a 19-yard TD run early in the second quarter and Hunter Johnson added 9, 58 and 60-yard TD runs to give the Redbirds a 42-12 lead at the half. Trevor Johnson rushed for 113 yards on eight carries and scored two touchdowns including a 5-yard TD run in the third quarter.
Darlington senior quarterback Jared Meister was 3 of 4 passing for 37 yards. The Redbirds' defense stymied the L-Cats rushing game limiting them to 19 yards on the ground.
Brodhead-Juda 27, Jefferson 12
JEFFERSON - The Brodhead-Juda football team rebounded from two season-opening losses to beat Jefferson 27-12 for its first win this year.
In other action, Evansville-Albany rebounded from a loss last week to topple Beloit Turner 27-15.
