MONROE - The Cheesemakers picked up its first conference win on senior night, knocking off Fort Atkinson 2-1.
Kelli Isaj scored the game clinching goal in the 72nd minute on a free kick from the right side.
"He curved it right into the far post and into the net," Monroe head coach Tony Stamm said.
Isaj assisted on Monroe's first goal, which came off the head of Belsazar Castellanos at 39 minutes, 18 seconds.
"Kelli actually wanted to come out of the game. He said he was feeling hot. I looked at the clock and saw there was only two minutes left and told him to stay in there," Stamm said. "We were really excited (with the goal). It was great to get it in the last few seconds of the half."
Stamm went on to add that his two goal scorers were the leading cause for the win.
"Kelli and Belsazar both had an excellent game. Kelli had 12 shots on goal," Stamm said.
Fort Atkinson tied the game in the 49th minute on a goal by Martin Moguel.
Senior Kramer Henning had 17 saves in goal for Monroe (4-7-1).
"He was pretty busy tonight," Stamm said.
