DEFOREST - The Cheesemakers evened their record with a 2-1 overtime win on the road at DeForest Thursday.

"Our guys gave it everything they had," Monroe head soccer coach Tony Stamm said. "We were dominating them in the first half, keeping the ball in their half, but just couldn't get one into the goal."

DeForest scored on a free kick to make it 1-0 just 47 seconds into the second half, but eight minutes later Monroe senior Kelli Isaj tied it up.

At the 2:38 mark in overtime, Isaj ended the game.

Senior Kramer Henning had 11 saves in goal for Monroe, which hosts Pewaukee Saturday at 11 a.m. at Honey Creek Park.

"Pewaukee is usually in the running in Division 2 for state every year. It should be a good game," Stamm said.
