JANESVILLE — Argyle’s Mason Holcomb took second place in the boys 16-18 division at the Wisconsin Junior PGA Tour event at Glen Erin Golf Course July 31. Holcomb’s 3-over-par 74 was just two shots back from winner Kyle Wille of Edgerton.

Holcomb birdied the par-4 fourth and the par-3 seventh on the front nine. A double bogey on the par-5 18th dropped him out of a first-place tie.

Monroe’s Noah Becker finished with a 9-over 80, which was good enough for eighth place. Becker birdied the par-3 second, par-5 eighth and par-5 18th. Triple bogeys and the par-3 seventh and par-4 11th kept him from finishing in the top three.

Jared Martinson of New Glarus was 11th with an 89 (+18). Martinson’s day was highlighted by a birdie on the par-4 ninth.

Blanchardville’s Jeffrey Saether shot a 107 (+36), but birdied the ninth.

In the boys 14-15 division, Monroe’s Brennan Boyce was fifth with a 104 (+33), which included a birdie on the par-5 18th and a par on the par-3 16th.

James Boyce of Monroe finished ninth in the boys 12-13 division with a 112 (+41). James Boyce parred the par-4 fourth and par-5 eighth holes.
