Haffele sparks Juda over Albany

JUDA - Junior Keagen Haffele scored a game-high 26 points and had eight steals to propel the Juda boys basketball team to a 72-60 win over Albany on Friday.

Juda (3-1, 2-0 Six Rivers East) built a 42-20 lead in the first half.

"A great defensive performance helped us jump out to a 22-point lead in the first half," Juda coach James Pickett aid. "We had a few mental lapses in the second half, and Albany took advantage and knocked down some open shots. Albany played hard the entire game, but our defensive effort led to transition points and earned us a hard-fought win."

Juda's Jace Morris and Joe Rackow each scored 15 points. Senior Skyler Stuckey added 11 points and had seven rebounds.

Albany senior Brock Gilkes scored a team-high 22 points and made four of the Comets' seven 3-pointers. Senior Connor Trow added 15 points.

Albany drops to 4-2, 1-1.



Darlington 84, Fennimore 45

DARLINGTON - Senior Will Schwartz scored 21 points and the Redbirds cruised to a win over Fennimore.

Darlington (3-0, 2-0 SWAL), ranked No. 2 in the WisSports.net Division 4 Coaches poll, built a 35-20 lead in the first half.

"I think our defense was the key," Darlington coach Tom Uppena said. "I thought we did a great job of chasing off screens and contesting shots. We were able to get a lot of fastbreak points because of our defense."

Darlington senior Hunter Johnson added 15 points.



Black Hawk 81, Monticello 39

MONTICELLO - Four Black Hawk players reached double figures as the Warriors rolled to a win over Monticello.

Junior C.J. Leuzinger scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Warriors. Senior Josh Meier added 15 points, and sophomore Conner Meyer had 14 points. Junior Jett Rufenacht added 10 points, and junior Jared Knapp chipped in nine points, including two 3-pointers.

Black Hawk (1-1 Six Rivers East) opened the game with a 16-2 run and led by 14 points or more the rest of the way.

Monticello junior Jon Errthum scored a team-high 10 points for Monticello (0-5, 0-2). Junior Travis McCoy added nine points on three 3-pointers.



Also Friday, Barneveld defeated Argyle 75-22.
