MONROE - The Monroe girls track team was short-handed in a triple dual meet Tuesday with Milton and Madison Edgewood.

The Cheesemakers ran without Stephanie Wyss and Molly Wyss, who both were held out of the meet with minor injuries. That didn't faze Monroe, as the Cheesemakers defeated Milton, 80-66, and Madison Edgewood, 101-45. With the sweep, Monroe improves to 3-0 in Badger South dual meets.

"That's a nice position to be in right now," Monroe coach Curt Miller said. "We were a little short-handed. Fortunately, our depth carried us through."

Monroe senior Meaghan Tomasiewicz broke her school record by winning the pole vault with a vault of 10 feet, 6 inches. Tomasiewicz won the high jump with a season best jump of 5-2.

Monroe junior Tess Seichter won the 3,200-meter run with a time of 12 minutes, 11.3 seconds. Seichter teamed up with Madeline Arnold, Kelsey Duxstad and Jamie Armstrong to win the 3,200 relay with a time of 10:53.2.

Monroe junior Tessa Frutiger won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 6:01.8.

The Cheesemakers' 400 relay team of Brenna Bazley, Maria Eberle, Ty Gibson and Jaclyn Ditter finished first with a time of 53.1 seconds.
