MADISON - With a perfect conference record and title going into the last league game, the Badger Conference champion Rock County Fury were hoping to complete the season with no losses.

However, the Cap City Cougars disrupted those plans, taking the final conference game of the season, 5-3.

Rock County (17-3-2, 9-1 Badger) struck first in the first period on a pass from Haley Knauf to Zoie Steig. The Cougars (14-6-1, 6-2) continued to pressure the Fury, scoring four unanswered goals in the second period.

The Fury did not go quietly, scoring twice in the third to make it 4-3. Knauf tallied both goals, including one with an assist from Abby Humphrey.

The Cougars scored a power play goal late in the third to push it back to a two-score game, sealing the only conference loss of the year for Rock County.

The Fury head to Marshfield to take on Wisconsin Valley Union (15-2-2) Friday.
