JANESVILLE - Zoie Steig scored the game-winning goal off a rebound to give the Rock County Fury a thrilling 4-3 overtime win over the Middleton co-op in a WIAA sectional semifinal game Tuesday at the Janesville Ice Arena.

The game-winning goal was set up by senior Maggy Henschler's shot that was deflected by the Metro Lynx goalie before Steig caught the rebound and fired in the game-winner.

The Fury (20-3-2) will play the Sun Prairie co-op (17-6-1) in a sectional championship game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Madison Ice Arena with a state berth on the line. The Fury edged the Cap City Cougars 2-1 earlier this season.

Albany's Alyssa Knauf got the Fury on the scoreboard first with a goal on assists by Haley Knauf and Anika Einbeck.

The Metro Lynx responded with one goal. Henschler scored a goal at the end of the first period on a pass from Haley Knauf to give the Fury a 2-1 lead.

Early in the second period, Henschler scored her second goal on assists by Monroe freshman Anika Einbeck and Haley Knauf to give the Fury a 3-1 lead. Haley Knauf finished with three assists.

Due to some penalty trouble by the Fury in the second and third periods, the Metro Lynx scored two goals to tie the game at 3. That set the stage for the hectic finish.
