MONROE - For the second straight year, Freeport boys tennis coach Ed Schradermeier and his wife, Uli Dornhagen, won the 40th annual City Mixed Doubles tournament at Recreation Park.
Schradermeier and Dornhagen defeated Marius Schradermeier and Katie Demianiuk 4-6, 6-3, 10-4 Sunday for the title. It marked the final of three summer tennis tournaments hosted by the Monroe Parks and Recreation Department.
In the semifinals, Schradermeier and Dornhagen beat DeForest's Scott and Cecile Fuchs 2-6, 7-6, 10-7. Marius Schradermeier and Katie Demianiuk defeated Matt Monahan and Eva Priewe 2-6, 7-6, 10-6 in the other semifinal to reach the final.
The Fuchs father and daughter duo of Scott and Cecile beat Monahan and Priewe in a third-place match 6-2, 6-0.
