MONROE - There were four area volleyball players named to the Six Rivers All-Conference first team recently.

The first team all-conference players included Monticello senior outside hitter Jordyn Kubly, Black Hawk junior middle hitter Jen Wellnitz, Argyle senior setter Kayla Ostby and Pecatonica senior outside hitter Lizzy Britt.

Barneveld sophomore middle hitter Rachel Slaney was named the conference player of the year after leading the Eagles (11-1) to a conference championship.

There were 18 total area players who received all-conference honors of some sort. Monticello sophomore outside hitter Alyssah Kubly and junior middle hitter Marissa Berg received second team all-conference honors.

The other players named to the second team include Albany senior outside hitter Kirstie Kauk, Black Hawk senior setter Kelly Neuenschwander and Juda senior outside hitter Brittany Moe.

Argyle had three players named honorable mention all-conference, including senior Kim Pink, sophomore Jenna Langmeier and senior Rachel Tollakson. Monticello (10-2), which finished one game behind the Eagles had two honorable mention all-conference players - junior Claire Bruns and senior Amy Silver. The other honorable mention players included Pecatonica senior Michelle Francois, Juda junior Tabatha Davis, Juda senior Miranda Trotter and Albany senior Carlie Peters.
