FORT ATKINSON - Friday's wrestling meet against Fort Atkinson was a night to forget for the Monroe Cheesemakers, as they lost 66-3.

Picking up the Cheesemakers only points on the night was David Andrews, who collected the win at 106 pounds over his opponent by a 13-7 decision.

Despite their endeavors, coach Tom Witt said he tries to take away some positives from each and every match.

"Overall tonight was a struggle for us," said Witt. "But hopefully we learn from our mistakes, gather ourselves back up, and prepare for next week."



Darlington-Black Hawk 44, Cuba City/Southwestern 28

DARLINGTON - On Friday night the Darlington-Black Hawk co-op wrestling team hosted a conference meet against Cuba City/Southwestern and won 44-28.

Picking up wins for Darlington-Black Hawk by way of pin were Zach Wolf at 285 pounds and Colin Novak at 126.

Taylor Evenstad (220) collected a win by a 4-1 tie breaker, and Dakorta Meier (152) won by technical decision.

Also picking up wins were Tyler Brunkow (195), Lucas McGill (106), Caleb Novak (113), and Jared Pickett (120), all collecting wins by way of forfeit.
