FORT ATKINSON - Senior Skylar Lassen and sophomore Nina Schiro each had a hand in winning two events, but the Monroe-New Glarus girls swim team lost a dual meet to Fort Atkinson 103-67 on Tuesday.
"It was another tough meet, but we had many PRs (personal records)," Monroe-New Glarus coach Linda Moser said.
Fort Atkinson won seven of the 11 races.
Lassen won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1 minute, 7.14 seconds. She teamed with sophomores Cammi Ganshert, Emily Meritt and Schiro to win the 400 freestyle relay (4:07.31), which was more than six seconds faster than the Blackhawks.
Schiro also won the 500 freestyle (5:48.54).
The other win for the Cheesemakers came from junior Maddie Hammer in the 100 breaststroke (1:18.96).
The Monroe-New Glarus junior varsity team beat Fort Atkinson 56-45.
Monroe-New Glarus will swim at the Fort Atkinson Invitational on Saturday.
