WHITEWATER - Former Cheesemaker Kelsey Hendrickson was named to the D3hoops.com All-Central Region first team and honorable mention All-America team in women's college basketball. Hendrickson is just the third player in UW-Whitewater history to be named to the All-America team by D3hoops.com.
Hendrickson graduated from Monroe in 2005 and transferred to UW-Whitewater from the University of Wisconsin and started playing for the Warhawks in the 2007-08 season. She played in 90 games as a Warhawk, starting 89, and scored 1,108 points. Hendrickson became just the ninth player in school history to reach the 1,000 point plateau.
Averaging 12.3 points per game in her career, Hendrickson shot 42.3 percent from the field - including 36.9 percent from 3-point land - and was 77.6 percent in her career from the free throw line. Hendrickson averaged 2.72 steals per game in her career and broke the school record for steals in a season as a senior.
Hendrickson helped lead the Warhawks to two Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles, in 2008 and 2010, and to the national tournament all three years - including a final four appearance in 2008. For her efforts on the court, Hendrickson was named to the WIAC All-Conference first team all three years and was once named to the All-Defensive team.
