EVANSVILLE - Monroe's boys' soccer team struck first Friday, but still fell 2-1 to Evansville.

Jon Elmer's goal just 8 minutes, 35 seconds into the game gave Monroe a 1-0 lead.

But Evansville evened the score about 17 minutes later and then got the game-winner midway through the second half.

Dan Becker made five saves for Monroe.
