MONROE - Eight Monroe softball players received Badger South All-Conference recognition recently.
The Cheesemakers had three players named first-team all-conference including sophomore pitcher Olivia Bobak, junior third baseman Alysha Witt and junior catcher Meredith Hose.
Monroe finished 16-9 overall and took second in the Badger South Conference with an 8-4 mark. The Cheesemakers' season came to an end with a 4-1 loss to Beloit Turner in a WIAA Division 2 regional championship game.
Bobak posted a 16-8 record as a pitcher. She had a 2.09 ERA and struck out 200.
Witt was second on the team in hitting with a .419 average, with a team-leading one home run, 26 RBI and 11 extra-base hits. She also scored 21 runs.
Hose batted .407 and had 20 RBI along with a team-best 24 runs scored.
The three Monroe senior players who were named second-team all-conference were centerfielder Lexi Hilliard, left fielder Carly Upmann and designated player Megan Baumgartner.
The two Cheesemaker players who received honorable mention all-conference include junior Madison Katzenberger and freshman Grace Tostrud.
