EDGERTON - Four wrestlers posted pins, but the Monroe wrestling team lost a non-conference dual meet to Edgerton 45-30 Friday.
Monroe (1-7, 1-1 Badger South) received pins from sophomore Cole Murray (126 pounds), freshman Dempzy Foley (152), junior Traiten Gorr (220) and sophomore Kyle Walter (heavyweight).
Monroe's Travis Wolf (132) had an 8-2 lead before being pinned. Sophomore teammate Isaac Allen, who wrestled up at 170, also had a 2-0 lead in the first period before being pinned.
"That was a nine-point swing," Monroe coach Tom Witt said of Wolf's match. "If those two guys' matches turn out how I expected them to and how they were going, we win the dual 36-33. We are still young. They are inexperienced wrestlers. Sometimes you have to take your lumps. It's a learning experience for them."
The Cheesemakers forfeited matches at 113 and 120 and there was a double forfeit at 106.
Murray pinned Edgerton's Logan Hein in 3 minutes, 1 second. Foley at 152 pinned Edgerton's Jake Daughtry in 4:26. Gorr remained unbeaten at 220, pinning Derek Fiefken in 1:48 and Walter pinned Adrian Radtke in 4:33.
It's the second straight year Murray has defeated Hein.
"It took Cole a while to figure him out, but it was a carbon-copy of last year," Witt said.
