MONROE - The Monroe girls cross country team will host the Cheesemaker 4K and 5K Chase Saturday, Aug. 14.
The Cheesemaker Chase is a fund-raiser for the girls cross country team. The Cheesemaker Chase will start Aug. 14 with the women's 4K race at the Twining Park north shelter across from the Green County YMCA.
The men's race is a 5K. The men's race is set to start at 8 a.m. and the women's race will start about 9 a.m.
The Cheesemaker Chase is open to school-age children and adults.
The early registration fee of $15, which includes a t-shirt, is due Monday. Registration the day of the race is $18 and a t-shirt is not assured. Registration information is available at Garden Deli, Ruf's, Flanagan's Shenanigans, Perks and the YMCA.
Last year, there were 54 competitors between the two races. There are five age divisions per race with the champion receiving a t-shirt and the top three finishers receiving cheese curds.
