It's the third straight loss for Brodhead-Juda to start the seaon. Last year, the Cardinals lost their first two games and then bounced back to qualify for the playoffs.
Jefferson's Nolan Klawitter had a 1-yard TD plunge late in the first quarter. Brodhead-Juda senior Brekan Day answered with a 19-yard TD run, but the Cardinals missed the kick and the Eagles led 7-6 with 7 minutes, 56 seconds to go in the second quarter.
The Eagles were able to extend their lead in the third quarter when Zach Peterson connected with Matt Sietkes on a 20-yard TD pass to give the Eagles a 14-6 lead. AnFang's 15-yard TD run about midway through the fourth quarter extended Jefferson's lead to 21-6.
Brodhead-Juda senior quarterback Parker Johnson hooked up with senior Jace Morris on a 2-yard TD pass with 1:06 to go, but the Cardinals missed the extra point.
Johnson completed 13 of 22 passes for 105 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Jefferson outgained the Cardinals in total yards 235-211. Both teams had one turnover. The Cardinals had four penalties for 43 yards. Brodhead-Juda was limited to 105 rushing yards.
