Dorn leads Knights, Pec-Argyle drops opener

PLATTEVILLE - The Pecatonica-Argyle football team for the second straight year opened up the season with a loss to Kenosha St. Joseph at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Saturday.

The Vikings lost 32-7 and scored their lone touchdown on a 27-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Charlie Rubio to junior running back Jared Johnson in the fourth quarter.

Kenosha St. Joseph's Ian Neville rushed for 176 yards and scored two touchdowns. Charlie Pechous had 142 total yards (95 receiving, 47 rushing) and scored two touchdowns to lead the Lancers past the Vikings.

NEW GLARUS-MONTICELLO 28, IOWA-GRANT 6

LIVINGSTON - New Glarus-Monticello senior Tyler Dorn rushed for 272 yards and scored two touchdowns to propel the Knights to a season-opening 28-6 thrashing of Iowa-Grant Friday night.

New Glarus-Monticello won despite six turnovers.

The Knights' defense limited Iowa-Grant senior quarterback Cole Solomon, a Division I recruit, to 4 of 21 passing for 71 yards. The Knights forced three turnovers. Solomon did rush for 100 yards on 21 carries.

New Glarus-Monticello senior running back Mason Lockard opened up the scoring for the Knights with an 8-yard TD run. Dorn scored on a 46-yard run and senior Kirbe French caught a 33-yard TD pass from junior quarterback Lukas Kolasch to give the Knights a 21-6 lead. Dorn also scored on a 4-yard TD run.

Kolasch completed 2-of-5 passes for 45 yards with two interceptions. French caught two passes for 45 yards and a touchdown.
