Defense does the job for Darlington

DARLINGTON - Coach Mike Chambers said his Darlington girls basketball players "had a chip on their shoulders" after a recent poor defensive performance.

The Redbirds took it out Friday night on Southwestern, rolling to a 57-27 victory in SWAL action.

Amy Jorgenson scored 16 points, Claire Scott had 15 and Cassidy Chambers added 11 for Darlington, which led 25-0 after one quarter.

East Dubuque 48, Argyle 37

ARGYLE - The Orioles trailed just 24-21 at halftime, but East Dubuque outscored them 24-16 in the second half and limited Argyle to just four points in the third quarter.

Argyle senior Danielle Treuthardt scored 12 points and junior Kayla Ostby chipped in with 11.
