Darlington picks up another win

CUBA CITY - Despite playing without two of their top golfers, Darlington-Cuba City picked up another victory Thursday. Darlington-Cuba City shot a 213 while Southwestern had just three golfers and had an incomplete score.

With Nellie Black and Erica McComish attending another school function, Redbirds coach Gary Ringen used senior Ali McCauley, sophomore Shelby Poss, and four freshmen at the par 37 Cole Acres Golf Course in Cuba City.

McCauley was medalist for the Redbirds with a 42 and freshman Naomi Black carded a 55. Poss shot a 56 while freshman Tina Kurschner shot a 60. Kaitlyn Wall added a 69 and Marikate Knellwolf shot a 72.

According to Ringen, the four freshmen, "all had their best career rounds."

The Redbirds will host Mount Horeb on Monday at the Darlington Country Club.
