DARLINGTON - Prairie du Chien edged the Darlington-Cuba City girls golf team by nine shots Thursday, Sept. 5, 224-233 at the Prairie du Chien Country Club.
Darlington senior Sami Poss won medalist honors with a 50. Shelly Augustin carded a 57 despite a nagging back problem.
"She brought a brace, but decided it was too restricting for her swing," Jim Poss said. "
Kinsey Gould carded a 62 and Alexi Wagner finished with a 66. Emile Bellrichard, who still is battling a nagging shoulder injury, shot a 68.
"We are not deep with talent so the pressure is on my top five," Darlington-Cuba City coach Jim Poss said. "Three through five are still shooting in the 60s. Overall, they are hanging in there and working to improve each match."
Augustin was in a bind on No. 2, but made a thrilling chip shot that found the green.
"She was in nowhere land and hit the impossible shot that went onto the green," Poss said. "The only thing that hurt Shelly today was her putting. She had too many three putts that cost her a low round."
