LENA - Just one day after setting a school record with a 189 against Mount Horeb, the Redbirds broke the record again for the best nine hole match score with a 183 in defeating Lena-Winslow (214) Tuesday at the par 35 Wolf Hollow Golf Course.

Cuba City senior Ali McCauley led all golfers with a 40, and Darlington junior Nellie Black shot a 43. Sophomore Shelby Poss also shot a 43. Freshman Naomi Black posted a 57 while junior Erica McComish finished with a 60. Hillary Jordan paced Lena-Winslow with a 49.

"All of the girls are playing great golf and this will be needed as we prepare for the conference meet (Wednesday) at Lancaster and the very tough Madison Edgewood regional on Sept. 30 at Madison Yahara West," Darlington-Cuba City head coach Gary Ringen said.

The Redbirds are now 10-2 in dual meets and 19-9 overall.
