MINERAL POINT - The Redbirds are flying together in a pack at the perfect time.
With the game all knotted up 36-36 heading into the fourth quarter, Darlington's boys basketball team hit the gas Thursday for a 23-point fourth quarter and a Division 3 Evansville Regional semifinal victory on the road at Mineral Point, against which Darlington was swept in the regular-season series.
Darlington senior Mitchell Erickson had a game-high 24 points, with younger brother Alex chipping in 13. Senior Kyler Weigel put in 11 points in the victory, while Kaleb Engelke led the Pointers with 19.
The Redbirds advance to the regional final against Cuba City at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Evansville.
