SOUTH WAYNE - The Albany baseball team returned to its slugging ways by smashing Black Hawk 13-4 on Tuesday.

The Comets pounded out 15 hits and broke the game open with a five-run first inning.

Albany had four players with multi-hit games, including Mike Elmer (4-for-5), Brandon Pfeuti (2-for-4), Boomer Detra (2-for-4) and T.J. Zweifel (2-for-4).

Albany senior Tyler Bauman pitched a complete game and gave up four runs on nine hits. He walked three and struck out two.

The Warriors were led by Shane Jackson and Nick Good, who both went 2-for-4.

Good pitched six innings and gave up 10 runs on 12 hits. He struck out five and walked three.

Jefferson 5, Brodhead 3

JEFFERSON - The Cardinals rallied to tie the score, but Jefferson scored two runs in the fifth to spark the win.

Kyle Murray pitched six innings and gave up three earned runs on seven hits.

Ethan Douglas went 2-for-3 and Tyler Welch was 2-for-4 to lead the Cardinals.

Cambridge 4, New Glarus 1

CAMBRIDGE - New Glarus' Nick Steussy limited Cambridge to just two hits, but the Glarner Knights couldn't close the deal and lost, 4-1.

Steussy pitched six innings and struck out 10. The Knights were plagued by four errors.

New Glarus junior Ryan Bright went 3-for-4 to lead the Knights.
